ClassicFebruary 4, 2010 on 9:49 pm | In Uncategorized | No CommentsThis is classic on why we should think twice before allowing the needle. HeartFebruary 3, 2010 on 10:19 am | In Uncategorized | No CommentsAnother study confirming that higher blood levels of Omega3s promote anti-aging properties. How many studies do we need to see that eating fish or consuming cod liver oil that is mercury and containment free is highly beneficial for more than just heart health. AntioxiKidsFebruary 2, 2010 on 11:38 am | In Uncategorized | No CommentsAntioxidants reduces risk of AD in kids Antioxidants are good for the skin. This study shows how this can benefit even the most youthful. Foods high in C are kiwi, oranges, and berries. Check out wheat germ, nuts such as almonds…but it’s difficult to know exactly what we should take without doing an intake our our fatty acid profile…the Comprehensive Metabolic Profile provides specific analysis of your biochemistry and associates how much of what vitamins, minerals, etc..you should take. MouthFebruary 2, 2010 on 11:20 am | In Uncategorized | No CommentsAnother study on benefits of omega3 DHA and oral health from Japan. In addition to omegas, we also use baking soda, peppermint, diluted hydrogen peroxide to maintain our teeth. Our checkups are always good. To take this a step further, we’ve recently added a probiotic toothpaste that I will be making available at the wellness store. If probiotics are good for promoting healthy bacterial balance in the gut, how much more in the mouth where bad bacteria tend to thrive. Keep posted… WaterJanuary 30, 2010 on 6:10 pm | In Uncategorized | No CommentsComment from a recent blog: Stephanie, Distilled water is a solvent. RO with carbon filtration does not get all bacteria and arsenic and will not remove viruses. However, distilled with carbon filtration will get everything as long as it is maintained properly and filters are changed according to instructions. There is concern about losing minerals. Yes, we should be getting our minerals from fruits and vegetables but the reality is #1 most people don’t consume the RDA (recommended death allowance) of fruits and veges on a daily basis. #2 Even organic fruits and veges that have shown in tests higher concentrations of minerals are vastly devoid of mineral content compared to 50+ years ago. So my wife and I have come up with a solution that works for us—We distill water and add back natural minerals via Himalayan Rock Salt. My wife soaks the natural rock salt in water and adds a teaspoon per gallon to distilled water- in effect re-mineralization the pure water. Now it’s one thing to guess how this works but we went a step further. We went and had a bone density scan to see how the minerals were influencing our bodies. Both my wife and I had excellent bone density from our Dexa Scans. We have also run nutritional test via Metametrix to determine how we are processing minerals and how all of our organs, pathways are working…. So scientifically we are able to verify our health status, not just based on how we feel. Because many people feel good, but that doesn’t necessarily mean they are healthy. Overall, the life of the flesh is in the blood…so when we provide the right nutrients and pure water with the right balance of minerals, we are doing our bodies good. My personal feeling is that much of our contaminated water, air, food is contributing to overload on our detox organs—liver, kidneys, gall badder, skin—thus contributing to many forms of cancer. But if I had to pick one thing from a physical perspective we could for our bodies, it would be drinking pure water. Take away food, exercise, etc..and you have water. Do you know why? People can live without exercise, although not to a high quality of life. People can live for a certain period of time without food, although at some point they will need nourishment. But we can only live just a few days without water. Water is key to life and my #1 recommendation. MercuryJanuary 27, 2010 on 11:08 am | In Uncategorized | No Commentshttp://www.pathmed.com/faq/?p=504 Mercury is a known neurotoxin. Seems ironic that pregnant women should limit consumption of fish especially those that contain mercury because of developing fetuses. Yet, we allow mercury fillings in our mouth that may slowly release small amounts into our system causing damage over time. This is one of the reasons we recommend perpetual detoxification. Detoxification helps support the liver so that it can do its job by ridding the body of toxic waste. Start off with a 28 day detox is good but better is detoxing on a regular basis. Regulation: claim making and claim takingJanuary 26, 2010 on 10:19 am | In Uncategorized | No CommentsRegulation: claim making and claim taking. This is what we’ve been saying now for a long time. Lifestyle changes are the key to weight management. But also note that supplements help support effective lifestyle habits. There are many fad, bogus supplements on the market making wild claims. Professional companies, such as Designs for Health, attach science based research to their products. FreshJanuary 25, 2010 on 11:53 am | In Uncategorized | No CommentsSeems like this is what we’ve been saying for years. More fresh and more local food. Interesting concept of working through a grass roots level to promote more awareness of what is happening to our foods. Large corporations have tried to produce foods that are altered chemically and are not in line with what God created for food. Man thinks they can do better than God but God has already told us that what He created for food is good. HaitiJanuary 13, 2010 on 6:18 pm | In Uncategorized | No CommentsPress release from today Game DayJanuary 10, 2010 on 11:28 pm | In Uncategorized | 1 CommentWe watched the Cardinals beat Green Bay. Just as fascinating as the game were the number of commercials highlighting the latest drug. More specifically, the pfizer viagra commercial was jaw dropping. The wonderful music and happy people are offset by the list of side effects. It’s amazing that simple lifestyle changes that include proper nutrition and exercise maximize male quality of life. The problem is simple lifestyle changes are not always the easiest to implement on a moment by moment, hourly, daily, weekly, monthly and yearly consistent basis. But I was thinking back about 14 years ago when I was diagnosed with kienboch’s disease. What was my mindset? Back then I could eat whatever I wanted and did not have an ounce of fat on my body. For all I knew, I was in top shape. A premier physical specimen. I was also uninformed, confused and ignorant of the truth. The internet was just getting off the ground and quality information was sporadic. One surgeon rightfully recommended I stop putting pressure on my arm that was perpetuating the disease state of my wrist. This meant giving up exercise which was about the last thing I wanted to do. The other option he presented me was to have a risky surgery. I remember reading his notes to another specialist and from what he wrote, he generally cared about my condition. Although I believe my ultimate healing took place through my faith in Jesus Christ, I had to do my part. Something in me said that a risky surgery was not the way to go. I started making lifestyle changes. This took a number of years. There were things I didn’t want give up. But pain is a great motivator. I asked myself how long I wanted to put up with pain. Was pain higher than changing my lifestyle. For a while there, I valued pain more than making the necessary changes. Until one day I decided I was not going to settle. I wanted to be healed. This is what led me on the path and ultimately to where I am today. I am still on a journey to wellness, but I have gained some insight along the way. One thing is for sure, I had acne when I had a poor diet and now I have an excellent diet and do not have this condition. I was diagnosed with Kienboch’s disease and through prayer, rest, good nutrition, I no longer suffer with the pain I had for 5 years in my wrist. I had digestive issues before. Now through sound nutrition, I don’t have the symptoms anymore. But this did not happen overnight. So getting back to our viagra story, the reason why these commercials seem to show up on game day is because people are looking for a quick answer, instant solution to their health problems that they’ve developed over years. And they know about health and nutrition and really don’t care..just give me the pill. Right? I don’t think so. Why have 75% of American’s sought alternatives to conventional medicine? I am thankful for modern medicine. It has saved many lives and in a crisis situation, wouldn’t want any other type of care. But lifestyle related conditions which most Americans struggle, they need the truth about what and when to eat, how to manage good and bad stress, movement or exercise, emotional and spiritual wellness. But it takes a decision…just like 14 years ago when I decided I was tired of living with pain and wanted a change. I didn’t care how long or what had to be done, I was going to find an answer and with the Lord’s help, I am grateful for good health today and the opportunity to help others. Go Cards! Next Page » |
