Mercury is a known neurotoxin. Seems ironic that pregnant women should limit consumption of fish especially those that contain mercury because of developing fetuses. Yet, we allow mercury fillings in our mouth that may slowly release small amounts into our system causing damage over time. This is one of the reasons we recommend perpetual detoxification. Detoxification helps support the liver so that it can do its job by ridding the body of toxic waste. Start off with a 28 day detox is good but better is detoxing on a regular basis.

Regulation: claim making and claim taking

Regulation: claim making and claim taking.

This is what we’ve been saying now for a long time. Lifestyle changes are the key to weight management. But also note that supplements help support effective lifestyle habits. There are many fad, bogus supplements on the market making wild claims. Professional companies, such as Designs for Health, attach science based research to their products.

Seems like this is what we’ve been saying for years. More fresh and more local food. Interesting concept of working through a grass roots level to promote more awareness of what is happening to our foods. Large corporations have tried to produce foods that are altered chemically and are not in line with what God created for food. Man thinks they can do better than God but God has already told us that what He created for food is good.

Game Day

January 10, 2010 on 11:28 pm | In Uncategorized | 1 Comment

We watched the Cardinals beat Green Bay. Just as fascinating as the game were the number of commercials highlighting the latest drug. More specifically, the pfizer viagra commercial was jaw dropping. The wonderful music and happy people are offset by the list of side effects. It’s amazing that simple lifestyle changes that include proper nutrition and exercise maximize male quality of life.

The problem is simple lifestyle changes are not always the easiest to implement on a moment by moment, hourly, daily, weekly, monthly and yearly consistent basis. But I was thinking back about 14 years ago when I was diagnosed with kienboch’s disease. What was my mindset? Back then I could eat whatever I wanted and did not have an ounce of fat on my body. For all I knew, I was in top shape. A premier physical specimen. I was also uninformed, confused and ignorant of the truth.

The internet was just getting off the ground and quality information was sporadic. One surgeon rightfully recommended I stop putting pressure on my arm that was perpetuating the disease state of my wrist. This meant giving up exercise which was about the last thing I wanted to do. The other option he presented me was to have a risky surgery. I remember reading his notes to another specialist and from what he wrote, he generally cared about my condition.

Although I believe my ultimate healing took place through my faith in Jesus Christ, I had to do my part. Something in me said that a risky surgery was not the way to go. I started making lifestyle changes. This took a number of years. There were things I didn’t want give up. But pain is a great motivator. I asked myself how long I wanted to put up with pain. Was pain higher than changing my lifestyle. For a while there, I valued pain more than making the necessary changes. Until one day I decided I was not going to settle. I wanted to be healed. This is what led me on the path and ultimately to where I am today.

I am still on a journey to wellness, but I have gained some insight along the way. One thing is for sure, I had acne when I had a poor diet and now I have an excellent diet and do not have this condition. I was diagnosed with Kienboch’s disease and through prayer, rest, good nutrition, I no longer suffer with the pain I had for 5 years in my wrist. I had digestive issues before. Now through sound nutrition, I don’t have the symptoms anymore. But this did not happen overnight.

So getting back to our viagra story, the reason why these commercials seem to show up on game day is because people are looking for a quick answer, instant solution to their health problems that they’ve developed over years. And they know about health and nutrition and really don’t care..just give me the pill. Right? I don’t think so. Why have 75% of American’s sought alternatives to conventional medicine? I am thankful for modern medicine. It has saved many lives and in a crisis situation, wouldn’t want any other type of care. But lifestyle related conditions which most Americans struggle, they need the truth about what and when to eat, how to manage good and bad stress, movement or exercise, emotional and spiritual wellness. But it takes a decision…just like 14 years ago when I decided I was tired of living with pain and wanted a change. I didn’t care how long or what had to be done, I was going to find an answer and with the Lord’s help, I am grateful for good health today and the opportunity to help others.

Insurance companies are really handing it to consumers. It takes at least 6 months for maternity coverage. What happens if your spouse gets pregnant during your waiting period? According to the insurance industry, you will not receive coverage. My monthly premium rose about 20% last year and I’m a level 1 which is the healthiest number. Do my premiums go towards level 1’s, 2’s and 3’s…or just 1’s? Very interesting. What are your experiences with insurance?
